Below are the fundraising options and positions we are looking to fill:

Christmas Party

Each December on the last day of lessons, we hold our annual Christmas Party & Family Skate. Each arena has a number of Volunteers (the parents that chose this fundraiser) who join together and buy goody bags (think of children's birthday parties & $10-$20/person) for all the skaters on the ice that day (numbers provided by the Club). Also some will organize all the parents of the Club to bring a plate of treats for our potluck- chips, desert, cheese & sausage, spinach dip etc for all to share with our group.
Please check our newsletters and online calendar for dates.

Year End Ice Show

Confederation Arena Sunday March 21, 2011

This is our year end show that is held in March and is an enjoyable event for all involved. Skaters dress up in costumes and do a routine together with their class to music going along with the theme and showcase the skills they have learned over 12 or 24 week sessions. Rehearsal of the Year End Show starts in January just talking 15 minutes of lesson time. Participation in the Year End Show is MANDATORY as if a skater is a no show then it throws the rest of the skaters off. We need volunteers to start in October all the way to Year End Show Day to help with decorations, costuming, programs, donations, setup/clean up, music, MC, etc. You must be available for the whole 12 weeks of your session as there is many things to do and little time to do it.

AGM & Family BBQ - April 2011

Each year we hold our Annual General Meeting and Family BBQ in the spring and all our current skaters & their family are welcomed. This includes our volunteers that helped during the year as this is a token of our appreciation of all your hard work. We would like the families to attend and take part in the meeting and we will have our Program Assistants provide activities for your children and once the meeting is over we will have our BBQ. We need people to cook, clean, setup/clean up, prepare food etc.

Donation

Some parents are unable to volunteer their time to help due to work schedules, travelling spouse etc, therefore you can donate $100.00 non-refundable in instead of doing one of the above options. The donation helps make sure the Club can keep registration costs down.

Registrar Volunteers - 24 weeks

Volunteers will need to be knowledgeable with computers and internet. This person(s) will be a vital role in the Club as they will make sure to collect all skaters names and register them into the Skate Canada System, print off the list of the registered skaters & the invoice for the registration fee, alphabetize the registration binder, etc.

Registration Volunteers - 24 weeks

Volunteers will need to be available for the registration days (Sept & Nov 2010, Feb 2011 (Spring School) at the arena’s and help with administration work.
