CanSkate
CanSkate is a learn-to-skate program for ages 5 and up. No matter your skill level this is a program that offers the ability to advance your skating skills and techniques. Our programs are emphasized on fun and continuous movement while learning skills at the same time. This program will benefit all types and levels of skaters from the recreational skater to the figure skater to the hockey player who need that extra time to master their technique before moving to the next program. Skaters are grouped according to age and skill level with 10 skaters per group with assistance from our trained Program Assistants for our beginner skaters.Lesson Structure
CanSkate focuses on the development of seven stages of learning. The skills are arranged in progressions, from very simple to the more complex with each stage having a primary focus (Balance, Go Forwards). Once the skills in each stage have been mastered, a badge is awarded for the hard work they have done. The length of the lesson is 45 minutes and we offer private & semi-private lessons in addition to group lessons.Stage 1 - Balance
Stage 2 - Glide Forwards
Stage 3 - Glide Backwards
Stage 4 - Edges
Stage 5 - Power
Stage 6 - Speed
Stage 7 - Spin, Spiral, Jump
