Group STARskate
Group STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of Ice Dance, Skating Skills, Freeskate, Interpretive Expression and Stroking. Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a private/semi private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system. Skaters have the opportunity to participate in local competitions such as FUNMEETS.Group STARskate is a program that introduces the skaters to learn-to-figure skate. This is for skaters who have NOT passed any preliminary tests but has passed Stage 4 of the CanSkate program. Skaters learn the relationship between their body movements and edges as they learn how to this will affect all aspects of the skating fundamentals.
Lesson Structure
This is a non-competitive program that will enhance the skills the skaters have mastered in the CanSkate program. Group STARskate also teaches the skaters discipline and gets them ready to enter into the private or semi-private sector. The length of the lesson is 1 hour long with a 15 minute stroking session included in the 1 hour lesson. We offer private & semi-private lessons in addition to group lessons. It is MANDATORY to do stroking as this helps condition and enhance basic skills.Dress & Equipment Code
